Djibouti Ambassador Calls for U.S. Investment in Africa at Multicultural Event in Minneapolis

During a recent multicultural event organized by the Minnesota Institute of Horn of Africa Studies, the Djibouti Ambassador to the United States, Mohamed Siad Doualeh, compellingly invited U.S. companies to explore investment opportunities in Africa.

The event, held on October 26, 2024, in South Minneapolis, aimed to strengthen trade, investment, and security relations between Eastern African countries and the United States.

Ambassador Doualeh emphasized the potential for economic collaboration, thanking the organizers for bringing together a diverse group of attendees, including U.S. government officials, local leaders, and trade experts. He highlighted the importance of partnerships between American businesses and African nations, particularly in Djibouti, a strategic gateway to the continent.

During his keynote address, Doualeh referenced a successful U.S. State Department-led program that promotes cultural ties and economic collaboration through visits by African ambassadors to U.S. cities. He pointed out that cities like Minneapolis benefit significantly from their connections to Africa, contributing to local industries, political leadership, and cultural diversity.
